Spécificités
The right support for the health and flowering of your orchids.
Orchids are beautiful and exotic flowers, but they have specific substrate needs. Traditional potting soil is not suitable for their delicate roots.
Ready to use for repotting and planting, this soil is suitable for all species of orchids: butterfly orchid, pansy orchid, lady's slipper orchid, Phalaenopsis orchid, Denbrobium orchid, Cymbidium orchid, Oncidum orchid, Cattleya orchid, Stanhopea orchid, Zygopetalum orchid, etc.
Growing medium NFU 44-551 / Soil with organic fertilizer.
Why a Specific Soil for Orchids?
Orchids are epiphytic plants, which means that they naturally grow on other plants or supports, rather than in the ground. Their roots are adapted to absorb moisture and nutrients from the air, not from dense, moist soil. A conventional potting soil would retain too much water, which would cause the roots to rot and the plant to die.
Product benefits:
- This softwood bark compost ensures good aeration by preventing the soil from compacting and the roots from suffocating.
- The very fibrous blond sphagnum peat retains water and fixes nutrients.
- The Worm Compost and organic fertilizer ensure complete and balanced fertilization by providing a rich supply of micro-organisms and trace elements.

· FOR REPOTTING
- Repot when roots start appearing along the sides of the pot and outside of it.
- Preferably in spring, 1 month after flowering when new leaves start to sprout.
- Water the compost well, 2 to 3 hours before using it.
- Pick a pot 2 to 4 cm (0.8 to 1.6 inch) larger in diameter than the previous one. Either choose a brand new pot or disinfect a used one.
- Depot with caution, remove dead leaves, cut off dead roots and dried stems.
- Remove the old compost without damaging the roots.
- Place a 3 cm layer (1.2 inch) of gravel or clay pebbles at the bottom of the new pot. Add another 3 cm layer of compost.
- Carefully place your root ball inside the pot, fill with some more compost up to the base of the stem, pack lightly.
